Controls and Basics Sonic Dash

Controls

You control your character in Sonic Dash just by swiping your finger, you can move from left, right, jump by swiping up and if you swipe down you will go into a ball and dash, with the ability to smash through some of your enemies - like the crabs.

Like Subway Surfers, there are basically three paths, a left, middle and right one and when you are in mid-air from a jump you can change your lane/path by swiping to the left or the right.

Watch out for other control prompts in the game, such as when you have to jump across a large space you may have to jump, then wait for the tap target to display then quickly tap it to successfully complete the jump. Likewise at the end of a boss battle, you get prompted to tap at certain parts of the battle in order to defeat your enemy

The Basics

As with most endless runners, you need to just make the biggest score possible, you go through the game collecting rings which can be exchanged for items in the shop such as power-ups or new characters, collecting coins also helps you to increase your multiplier. A big multiplayer helps you to get a bigger score.

The Dash Meter

The Dash Meter is on the lower right of the screen and fills up as you collect gold rings and goes down as you swipe down to dash. Once it has filled you can activate this special dash mod do clicking on the dash meter icon and you'll zoom through everything! For a little while anyway...

Collecting Coins

There are two types of coins in the games, the standard gold rings. These protect you from some of the spikier enemies... If you have at least one you just lose them if you crash into one. Having coins though does not prevent you dying if you fall through a crash or crash into a totem pole or similar.

The gold coins can be banked at various parts of the game, this saves you losing them if you crash, but does leave you vulnerable until you collect at least one more. Once banked they can be exchanged for items in the shop such as characters or power-ups.

There are also red star coins. These appear now and again, and are the premium currency used in the game. You can also purchase these for real money in the shop. These can be exchanged for more valuable items in the shop.

Sometimes coins can be earned by completing social things such as liking the game on Facebook. Look out for the prompts in the game.
